We believe it is crucial for the success of the Business Program to build strong ties with our alumnae who are working in a wide variety of business areas. The members of our Advisory Council are provide critical, ongoing input, ensuring that what our students learn in the classroom will be relevant to their careers after graduation. Members of the Business Advisory Council also draw on their careers and experiences to bring valuable perspectives to the College's advising system.

One of Sweet Briar's most innovative initiatives is its advising system that takes advising far beyond traditional course selection with an academic advisor. A student has the opportunity to draw on the knowledge of members of the Business Advisory Council, other alumnae, friends of the College, parents, professional staff, and additional faculty for career-related suggestions and real-world insights that will supplement the student's in-class experience.

The Business Advisory Council meets once at year during fall Homecoming where they work closely with Sweet Briar faculty, students, and staff. A highlight of their visit is the networking breakfast with students.
